To Drive Across the USA . . .

...is an experience one will never forget. With over 3,000 miles in front of you before reaching the other coast of our beautiful country, you feel an unparalleled sense of exhilaration and overwhelming urge to explore and launch yourself into the unknown.

In late May 2002, just less than two weeks after I graduated from the University of Virginia, I left my family's house in the suburbs of New York City in my '94 Honda Accord and headed west for a road trip that would last almost three months and cover over twelve thousand miles.

The bulk of my summer was spent at Yosemite National Park in California, where I volunteered for almost six weeks. At Yosemite I did about 100 miles of hiking all around the park and assisted people at the park's visitor's center. I learned a great deal about its history, wildlife, and geology. It was an excellent opportunity that was both fun and educational.

On this website, I have posted photos from my trip, the destinations I went to and some information about them, a gallery highlighting some of my favorite shots, and some info if you'd like to learn more about some of the places I went. This website is not meant to be a complete guide to driving across country, but rather a guide to the places I actually went. I skipped a lot of beautiful places due to time constraints and the fact that I had been to many of them before.
